Honeymoons…are they old fashioned?

Do you know how the “honeymoon” started. This time spent between a man and a woman goes back to ancient times. A man would see a woman he liked, capture her (usually against her own will), and then hide out with her for a long period of time, usually the length of one cycle of the moon. Many times, they would drink wine sweetened with “honey”. This then became the term “honeymoon”..

Obviously times have changed now, and brides are at their own will where a husband and wife choose each other and go away to spend some alone time together. The time frame has changed a bit, where the couple may only spend a few days to a few weeks on a honeymoon, rather than the length of an entire month.
